A coordination meeting was held via “Zoom,” attended by the head of the Al Fayhaa Municipalities Union, Engineer Wael Zmorli, bringing together officers of the Tripoli Fire Brigade and the union’s communications officer, Mr. Omar Al-Abyad, with the training officer of the Syrian Civil Defense, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of training and capacity building.

The meeting began with a presentation by the training officer of the Syrian Civil Defense, Mr. Hussam Al-Badawi, in which he addressed the most prominent approved training programs and mechanisms for their implementation, and the accumulated experiences in the areas of emergency response and field operations management.

In return, the Tripoli Fire Brigade presented the most prominent training needs and challenges facing personnel in the field, especially in light of the increasing risks and complexity of incidents.

The participants concluded by developing a preliminary framework for the work plan, which includes preparing a draft training plan by the training officer, and identifying the participants in the first phase by the Fire Brigade.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees emphasized the importance of this cooperation in enhancing readiness and raising the level of effective emergency response, which will positively reflect on the safety of the local community and serve it according to the highest professional standards.
