A delegation from TIKA visits the Union of Municipalities of al Fayhaa and discusses development projects.

A delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) visited the Union of Municipalities of Al-Fayhaa, including the TIKA Coordinator in Lebanon, Mr. Burak Yurdakul, advisor Ms. Serap Nayir, and the agency’s office director in Tripoli, engineer Habib Hamza, as part of efforts to enhance developmental cooperation and support vital projects in the cities of Al-Fayhaa.

The delegation was received by the President of the Union of Municipalities of Al-Fayha, Engineer Wael Zmerli, the Union Director, Engineer Dima Hamssi, along with the Union Advisor, Engineer Tarek Samraji, and the Union Communication Officer, Mr. Omar Al-Abyad.

During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation were discussed, including several projects that could be implemented in coordination with the union, particularly those related to supporting the fire brigade and enhancing its capabilities, as well as projects concerning waste management and improving municipal services, which would positively impact the environmental and service conditions in the cities of Al-Fayha.

It was also agreed to hold a second meeting in the next phase to continue discussing the technical details and establish practical implementation mechanisms for the proposed projects, with the agency’s delegation working on studying the feasibility of implementing developmental projects that serve the city of Tripoli and its residents.

Both sides emphasised the importance of this cooperation due to its role in supporting local development and enhancing the partnership between official institutions and international bodies, which contributes to improving the level of services and infrastructure in the city.
